Army Day: Army Chief Narwane said, historic withdrawal of 370 from Jammu and Kashmir

On the occasion of 72nd Army Day, Narwane said that the Indian Army has ensured the security of the country with full activeness and strength in the proxy war. He said that the situation on the northern border is peaceful. Referring to Jammu and Kashmir, Narwane said that the removal of article 370 is a historic step that will give Kashmir a chance to join the mainstream.

‘Multiple options to respond to terror’
The Army Chief further said that they have many options to respond to terror. Without naming Pakistan, Narwane said that we have a policy of zero tolerance towards terror. He said that we have many options to answer against terror, which we will not hesitate to use.

‘Army is preparing for future’
Narwane said that the emphasis is on modernizing the army. He said that his eyes are on the nature of future war. Integrated Battle Groups are being formed for this. Space, cyber, special operations and electronic warfare are underway. Narwane said that to prepare the army for the future, he is also focusing on increasing technical capacity.

‘Name, salt and mark theory’
The army chief said that there is no discrimination in the army regarding caste, religion and region. The army protects the country by following the principles of name, salt and mark. He said that he hopes that the army will live up to the trust of the country in the same way.
